What a Prophet, What a Week
Hello hello!
I hope everyone had a fantastic Easter and were able to watch General Conference!
love love LOVE general conference.
OKAY FIRST OF ALL, LETS START WITH THE BIGGEST BLESSIN THIS MISSIONARY HAS EVER SEEN OKAY
so
, Sister Thompson and I got a referral from elders in Yucaipa for a guy
named Walter, his info said he wanted to get back into church and his
fiance wanted to be baptized. We knew there was noooo way it was that
good , so of course we stop by.
We meet Walter and he showed
us how he has been studying the seminaries and institute manuels because
he wants to be a seminary/ institute teacher and is ready to be
baptized. He almost got baptized about 2 years ago but who he was dating
at the time didnt want him to, so he didnt. He told us how he prayed
for 3 days to run into missionaries, and the elders he had met, their
car had broken down and thats the reason they were able to meet him! So
Walter also gave us his girlfriend Brittanys number because she also
wants to be baptized.
After all day of playing phone tag we
finally are able to talk to her, and she was so so excited that she
finally got to talk to us! They both watch General Conference and they
want to be baptized and life is crazy.
dis crazy
and THEN,
we stopped by Marielas and we forced her to let us in (its okay if you dont think about it, it doesnt look bad)
We helped her build her daughters beds, aka I sat and watched them do it,
and
then she took us to get Thai food! I love Mariela, and she made her
husband who isnt a member come watch a session of general conference
with us.
This was a good good week.
Now lets talk about General Conference and HOW GOOD IT WAS
and how everyone was clowning
Larry
Y. Wilson spoke, and he actually did a training in our mission my first
weekend in California. It was crazy to look around the room of all the
missionaries and not even half of them had been there for him.
And
Elder Cook who was called to be a new area 70 was suppose to come to
our mission this week, but because of his new calling he had to cancel,
but luckily the Redlands stake will still have him come talk to us at
stake conference!
something I liked a lot was what Gary E. Stevenson said "The Battle is the Lords"
which is one of the guiding principles for our mission.
Sometimes
I often forget in missionary work that it is not all on me. I am just
the instrument, everything else is in the Lords hands
Which I feel I will carry that saying with me for the rest of my life. Because in the end, the battle is truly the Lords.
(also
I attached a picture of the family we had dinner with for Easter, the
Racadio family for my mom, but you can all enjoy it as well)
Alright I love you all,
and I'm thankful for all of you! <3
have another great week!
